A Passion for Boats

Wes Dilworth brings heart and sole to brokering yachts
Wes Dilworth has been referred to as a "Northern Michigan Tradition Since
1977." but his relationship with boats goes back farther than that. Wes has a
passion for boats since Day One and bought his first boat in 1967 at the age of
13. He has not been without a boat since, and boats have defined his decades
long career.
Dilworth got his first job at Irish Boat Shop in Harbor Springs, Michigan in
1970 at age 16, working a variety of capacities. After attaining his Bachelors
of Business Administration and Economics degrees from Western Michigan
University, he became Sales Manager of the Irish Boat Shop in Charlevoix,
Michigan.
Wes loved the brokerage business and left Irish in 1987 to start his own
independent yacht brokerage firm, Dilworth Yacht Brokers, handling the sale of
motorized yachts as well as sailboats. In his 35 years as a yacht broker, Wes
has put together more than 1200 yacht brokerage transactions under his belt.
Wes brings his clients - both buyers and sellers a lifetime of experience, and
wants to make sure everyone is happy with every sale.
A favorite quote is "we see every boat we list, and we don't list every boat we
see."
Wes and his lovely wife, Donna, have lived in Boyne City, Michigan for many
years, raising four children and participating in many civic endeavors,
including a stint as the president of the Boyne City Chamber of Commerce.
Donna assists Wes in the boat business. A graduate of Texas Women's
University. Donna's background includes radio station ownership as well as
print advertising sales. More recently she has been an award winning Realtor
with Re/Max of Boyne City. Like Wes, she brings a wealth of first-hand
knowledge to properly market and sell boats.
It would be hard to find a couple more dedicated to brokering Great Lakes
boats.
Wes is located in historic downtown Boyne City.
