Wes Dilworth
Retires From Yacht Brokerage
I give my heartfelt, gratitude, and a sincere thank you, to the thousands of
boat buyers, sellers, local boat yards, marina managers, and so many great
friends I made as a yacht broker ... CHEERS! to all of you!
By the numbers: 39 years founding, owning, and operating Dilworth Yacht
Brokers; 49 years as a yacht broker; 56 years serving the local boating
community; and 62 years sailing and enjoying boating.
I am proud: helped organize the Boyne City Yacht Club (later served as
Commodore); Past President of the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce; Better
Business Bureau A+ rating (their highest rating); longest serving yacht broker
in Michigan ... perhaps the Great Lakes.
This was all possible through the great and wonderful mentors I had: Dick Babcock, Dave
Irish, John Buick, Walter Fisher, Gene Chardoul, Ed Meyer, and (last and certainly not the least) my father Jim Dilworth who was the best dad and great teacher ... and, also my excellent education from Western Michigan University, where I earned degrees both in Business (BBA) and Economics.
I look forward to spending my time with: my lovely wife, Velma; mechanical
engineer sons, Jim and Ted; their teacher wives Jen and Lindsey; and my
favorite 5 year old grand daughter, Kate.
I am available to you for brokerage advice, any boating question, and to have
great chat about my favorite subject ... boating!
